The Focus

This residency is designed for makers who want to push the boundaries of fine-art porcelain. Held in a working atelier setting, these sessions provide a space to refine your technique under the mentorship of Denise Celia. We focus on the "architecture of form" - solving technical challenges, mastering mineralogy, and achieving high-end finishes.

Monthly Investment: R3,450 (4 Friday or Saturday sessions).

Atelier Logistics - Extras

Materials: Atelier-sourced porcelain (available for purchase by the kg).
Firing: Kiln fees calculated by weight/volume.
Glaze: Access to signature house whites and clear glazes. Specialized Glazes to be ordered.

Please arrive on time to settle into the studio rhythm. We recommend wearing hardy, comfortable clothing suited for working in an atelier. We provide aprons and a professional environment designed for fine art inquiry.

Porcelain requires a slow, delicate drying time. Once your work has been fired through the kiln, we will notify you to collect it. Please ensure all sculptural forms fit within your allocated 30cm x 30cm shelf space to ensure safe drying.

As this is a shared creative workspace, we kindly request that makers respect the quiet nature of the space. All tools must be cleaned and returned to their designated places at the end of the session to maintain the architectural flow of the atelier.
